Bully Buzz is a pro-active anti-bully intervention and empowerment organization for young children, teens, and young adults for the local, long distance, and surrounding areas of Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties, as well as providing national bully reporting services for all 50 states. Our mission is to prevent and maintain a zero tolerance of bullying in our schools, work place, and community. We focus on intervening, reducing, preventing, and eliminating bullying, cyber bullying, sexting and other digital abuse, educating against homophobia, racism and hatred, decreasing school absenteeism, and deterring violence in schools, online and in our communities. We teach effective solutions on how to respond to all forms of bullying; as well as educating young children, teens, and young adults in school and online, providing help for those in need and at risk of suicide, raising awareness, peer mentoring programs in schools and for the public.
Bully Buzz enables young children, teens and young adults to submit private request online seeking assistance for bullying incidents they may be experiencing at school, work, or within their community. Their online requests will create a support ticket that can be categorized in different support levels of low, medium, high, and urgent. Within their request we collect the pertinent information needed to begin the intervention process, such as, their name, school, the bully’s name and school, city and state, information about their incident, and give the option to provide any pictures or videos of any bruises and afflictions that can be used when contacting school officials, parents, and in a lot of cases the local authorities. All photos and videos are kept private and only used as evidence to help substantiate intervention.
After all the necessary information is collected upon submission, a ticket number is created and emailed to the victim or reporter of the abuse. A second notification is sent to Bully Buzz that alerts us that we have received a intervention request. Once we receive the request we will respond to the ticket by letting the victim or reporter know we have received their request and a Buzztip Officer assigned to their complaint will contact them as soon as possible (normally immediately to within 10-30 minutes of receiving a complaint). Once a Buzztip Officer makes contact, they will discuss the incident reported to assess what kind of intervention needs to take place. It is very crucial that we assess if suicide intervention is needed right from the beginning. If suicide intervention is needed one of our Peer Advocates will initiate intervention with counseling beginning with cavernous reassurance that they are not alone and we are here to help them.
Bully Buzz provides bully intervention at every level possible including helping the victims of bullies talk to their parent or guardian about the incident that has taken place, going to schools to speak with their administration/ and or school district officials, contacting the school of the bully and their parents and in some extreme situations going to the proper authorities, when an agreeable resolution cannot be reached.
Every support ticket is documented with every procedure and step taken to intervene and prevent. This means every email, phone call, office visit, meeting, and report regarding the request for bully intervention is logged for record. We believe this will give the reassurance to the victim that their voice has been heard, and there is someone who cares enough to take a stance and help protect them.
Once intervention has been completed, all Buzztip support tickets remain open for 90 days for continued follow up and support. After 90 days, the ticket will be closed, but all information will remain available forever for future reference if needed. There are no limits to the amounts of reports and intervention requests Bully Buzz will take. Every request will be taken seriously and every voice will be heard.
If there is a bully who is seeking to get help, he or she may also submit their information here as well. We will speak to them about their situation; discuss their options with their parent or guardian to help them with obtaining help with their issues.
Bully Buzz wants bullies to know being a bully is a reckless action that can ruin their life and inevitably hurt or kill someone maybe even themselves. We also want the victims of bullies to know they have power. They have the power to not allow themselves to be harmed.
